Why did I leave????
I originally joined the community for the feedback. I wanted constructive criticism to help me improve my art and to see what was popular.

What seems to be popular is camwhoring, anything with a nude woman, (I even made a piece of art with a nude woman in it to test this theory) and a lot of garbage. Yes DA has some great artists, and I will never bash that. The fact is a lot of the artists here are either Elitists who think they are better than anyone, or attention hungry. Some are here for the same reasons I was, some are here for other good reasons, like marketing prints. but it seems to be a common theme here, comment trades, weak commenting like "thats cool" and no explenations of opinions. Fav rings, and a general lack for the appreciation of art.

DA is a community for artist not a teenage popularity contest.

Speaking of contests, those are also rather silly. I did enter one so Hey call me a hipocrite if you will. But its rather sad to seek approval of the admins, who will give away such coveted attention getters for artists as daily deviations, to folks who threw some crap together and put no effort into it. Given most of what i refer to is better art than I have ever made.
Why do we seek approval? It's lame. I don't wan't approval, I want that asshole who is going to say "dude you totally fucked this than and the other up...heres a tip on how to avoid that or fix it."

Tonight I got in a major fight with a ircop on the IRC server (the chat rooms) they abused me, killed my connection, and klined me for a while too. This community has gone to shit. The administration are all volunteers and put up with a lot of crap for the love of the community, but some are also just plain too immature to have the "power" that they posess. This was the final decision maker for me. The fact that the community is run by immature assholes (No I do NOT mean all of them, but I have met two.) doesn't help any.

I may add to this journal if I'm not banned for bashing those two administrators. But I will leave their names out of it.
